God bless those who spread rocketry for the love and joy, with no recompence, and with a zest for life.

Well put Jerry, and for that matter, those who spread the joy of so many pasttimes, whether horseracing or needlepoint.
If I am not mistaken UROC was at least seeded by a more NAR oriented club I helped to found, and while I didn't know Dennis personally, news of his passing is a reminder of how all our lives intersect in so many ways, and that we should cherish each moment, however difficult.

Re: UROC member Dennis Peterson passes away at 65
The first launch I went to as a Giant Leap Rep was Hellfire some 3 years back. The second person to greet and welcome me was Dennis Peterson. He and others at UROC made me feel right at home. Over the next 2 1/2 years at every UROC event, Dennis was most likely first there and last to leave. I would almost always setup shop next to his trailer. There was always coffee, muffins, handshakes and a big smile. He would talk about his family, camping and Rockets. I will never forget sitting in lawnchairs, shooting the breeze in the early morning, as the Utah sunrise warmed us up for another 'Launch day at the Pony'. Just the best, Goodby my friend.....

Model rocketry is statistically safer then needlepoint.
People who put others before self and also have the spark, are the definition of human magic. Glowing over something matters. It is infectious.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Dennis a bit during my past Hellfire trips. I am sorry to hear that he has passed away. He definitely made rocketry much more enjoyable for the many who knew him. He will be missed.
