Monday, February 11, 2008

ImageSTOCKTON, California USA — Mr. Jack Garabaldi has acquired the rocketry retail store "What's Up Hobbies" and the kit manufacturer "Polecat Aerospace" from Mr. Andy Woerner of Santee, CA.

Mr. Garabaldi will be operating both companies and will be supporting the local clubs that Andy Woerner has been supporting over the years.

All web site orders will be processed as normal and all product lines will continue.

Jack Garabaldi  is a very experienced rocketeer that serves as a mentor to many. Jack serves as the President of Tripoli Central California, and is a NAR L3CC and Tripoli TAP.

The transition of the companies will be taking place over the next week. Contact information for both companies is:

Jack Garibaldi
9033 Rieti Lane
Stockton, Ca 95212
Phone-209-986-5829

Andy Woerner would like to thank everyone in rocketry that has supported Polecat Aerospace and What's Up Hobbies over the years, and hopes that Jack will receive the continued support from the community that has made these companies such a success over the years.

The decision to sell the companies was made for personal reasons. Mr. Woerner is a single parent of four teenagers and desired to spend more time with his kids.

Andy has always been available for my questions even though I have not purchased directly from his site. I have acquired some Polecat components second hand over time and found them to be very well made.

I wish Andy and Jack good luck in this change of hands. Hopefully Andy will have the time to spend with his daughters that he desires and Jack will be able to make a go of the hobby business.

Good luck to all.

It's a bummer to see Andy go. He was always one of the most friendly folks to deal with at the launches, and was always very helpful. I wish Andy the best of luck.

On the same coin, Jack's a great guy and it's gonna be fun having him come out to the launches!

I bought several kits from Polecat, including my L2 5.5" Phoenix. All the kits were well made and he was a great to deal with. I wish he and his family the best. I wish Jack the best of luck in the transition.

If you don't think he was having fun when he flew rockets, makes me wonder if you've talked to him.
