News Release by Giant Leap Rocketry
Wednesday, February 20, 2008

ImageBATON ROUGE, Louisiana USA — Giant Leap Rocketry is pleased to announce that it is now an AMW dealer. A major startup order has been placed with Paul Robinson at Animal Motor Works.

According to Ed, "This is a major expansion for Giant Leap, which is now the premier online and launch-site rocketry vendor."

Giant Leap expanded further into the motor market last fall when Tim Thomas came onboard as Giant Leap’s full time motor and hardware man.

Tim said, “I am happy to take over the motor and hardware side of things to allow Kent Burnett and Ed Shihadeh more time to develop their new and really cool products." Thomas added,"Dealing with Paul at AMW is a pleasure, and this is a win-win-win for Giant Leap, for AMW and for customers."

Thomas expects to have a full line of AMW in just a few weeks, so call Giant Leap now for your AMW needs.

Remember, Giant Leap also carries Cesaroni and Aerotech motors in addition to their well-known line of kits, parts and composite materials.

If you need motors or hardware from Giant Leap, call Tim at (970) 874-8545 or (970) 985-5172 (cell).

This is fantastic news especially since I bought an AMW motor and have a local Giant Leap dealer in our club. I wasn't sure where I would get the AMW reload and this takes care of that question. Now in one place I can get my Aerotech, Cessaroni and AMW reloads. You got my needs covered!!!

Great News. I can now fly my AMW motors at Louisiana launchs. This was not possible with out major logistics in the past. GL is our only on site vendor.

Well in Colorado, that means once Conway S. is up and running, we can choose between Loki, Gorilla, AT, CTI, and AMW. Should be an interesting year.

Pretty odd, if not sorta hypocritical....

Giant Leap, who's stuff & people are great, overall, has one thing that's always rubbed me wrong; none of their Slimline retainers work with AMW hardware!

And it's GL's 'fault'...they could make some minor design changes...now, on the fly, even...by changing the CNC formulas a bit & achieve compatibility. But they stubbornly expect/expected AMW to change their hardware design instead, despite the fact that it's much more difficult, if not impossible, to do so without compromising safety and/or requiring recertification.

Maybe now, this will change, but until it does, I'll continue to be a loyal Aeropack customer.

I too think Aeropack is the best. They're the only ones who have really done their homework. I like the way they fit. They also make retainers for several of the "not so common hybrids" out there. There's nothing wrong with buying from Aeropack and GL ya know. -Blair
