News Release by Squirrel Works
Monday, March 31, 2008

IRVING, Texas USA — The Squirrel Works is pleased to announce the release of the third kit in our Signature Series. Designer Jarrod Frankum was just fourteen years old when he and his dad Royce attended NSL 2006.

It was there, in the middle of a cow field, in 100 degree plus temperatures, that the High 5 was born.

Originally created as an entry into the Squirrel Works sponsored Iron Rocketeer event, the rocket has proven to be a fun and durable flier. Notable rocketeers from across the country have given the kit "three thumbs way up."

The High 5 features a balsa nose cone, laser cut balsa fins and a handy water slide decal sheet.

The High 5 is now available on the Squirrel Works web site.

Win A High 5 Contest

Terri and I have always enjoyed spy shows. TV or movie, makes no difference to us, we love them. Currently we watch shows like Burn Notice. In the past, we've been big fans of James Bond, The Man From UNCLE, Peter Gunn, The Saint, Get Smart, Secret Squirrel (hey, that would be a great screen name for the forums!) Our Man Flint, Mat Helm, etc.

There is, however, one spy that we feel is hands down the absolute best.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to be the first on this forum to tell us the name of this hero. We'll be running 2 separate contests, one on Rocketry Planet and the other on Rocketry Forum with a one winner on each forum. You must post your answers to this thread. You only get 3 tries, so use them wisely and not all at once.

The first clue is that there is a link between the graphics on the High 5 and the graphics in the opening of the show.
Actually, that's two clues.

We'll issue another clue tomorrow, until then we're going to lower the cone of silence.

Win A High 5 Contest Rules:

Rule 1: Do not talk about Fight Club.

Rule 2: Do NOT talk about Fight Club.

Rule 3: Do not ask for additional clues. That's not how this works.

Rule 4: You get 3 guesses, do not ask for more. No amount of pleading will sway us into giving you more tries.

Rule 5: A new clue will be posted every 24 hours or so until we have our winners.

Rule 6: No winners will be announced until we have a winner on each message board.

Rule 7: There is no Rule 7.

Rule 8: In the unlikely event that one message board does not produce a winner in a reasonable amount of time, we reserve the right to end the contest without awarding a prize on that board.

Probably not, I just can't get the free time to get away

It was aimed at kids 14 and under. We gave each entrant a kit, but it wasn't really a kit. It was a bag of parts, body tube, engine mount, nose cone, etc. There was a basic instruction sheet with sample fin patterns as well.
The goal was to have kids scratch build rockets of their own design with the materials in the kit.

Upon completion of the rocket and a successful flight, they got a certificate of completion.

We made up 35 parts kits and ran out.

Great idea. Too bad you will not be in attendance at NSL '08. I will be going - my first national launch. It's in my backyard (2 hours) so much easier for me than you.

The panthers paw prints make jr rocket's guess look awfully good, but for sentimentality, I'll vote for my fave: I Spy with Bill Cosby and Robert Culp. Alexander iirc (cosby) was great, and my favorite spy.

I'll go with two of my favorites now, save the last after more clues:
Jim Phelps - Mission Impossible
Emma Peel - Avengers

AHHH!! The good old days!!!

Couldn't wait - my third guess:

Boris Badenov - My favoritist, I know which show, but I'm not telling!!!

I didn't care for it as a kid either, but the humor is subtle, a bit like Mr Magoo. Whats the english claymation cartoon with the guy and his dog--not spy related but plenty of gadgetry and a hoot.

I absolutely love Wallace and Gromit, but I thought it was a Canadian claymation......not really English.

but I have been known to be wrong.

I believe Shaun the Sheep, a spin-off was Canadian, but W&G is British.

I did not care about the show over all either, I liked Boris though, the way he talked and his voice, I still remember well after 40 some years.

We don't have 2 winners yet, so here's the second clue:

Austin Powers is not the only agent to have his own band

I think monkey man Bob Cox nailed it on the other forum, so will post here--Lance Link, secret chimp. The hands on the tube are a cut from the opening theme.

That's it, contest over!
What makes Lancelot link the best? Fighting off evil monkeys!

We have our winners, Bob Cox and Chan Stevens. Email or PM me your shipping info and I'll get the kits out right away.

Thanks for playing. I'm glad I don't have to monkey around with this contest anymore.
