WORLD WIDE WEB — The owner of Boyce Aerospace Hobbies announced today that it will cease the production of model rocket kits. Alex Boyce cites a new job and family priorities are making it difficult to provide timely service to customers.
Boyce has sold the production rights for all of the Boyce micro scale kits and the 1/100 scale kits to Jim Neubauer. Jim will produce these kits and they will continue to be available through Kevin Funk at Discount Rocketry. The long promised 1/100 scale Mercury Atlas kit will also be released by Jim sometime in the next month or two. Boyce is currently looking for a buyer of the tooling, molds, and instructions for production of the 4" Mercury Redstone and never released 1/25 scale Scout B. Interested parties are free to contact Boyce. He will continue to offer a vinyl decal cutting service for parties interested in custom decal work. Details about the vinyl decal service and a new rocket collectibles page will be added to the Boyce web page within the next few days at http://www.ideations.com/Boyce_Aerospace_Hobbies. Any customers with orders pending for the 4" Mercury Redstone should receive their kits by the end of the month. Any gift certificates issued and still outstanding will also be honored. |
