In 2003, a grassroots campaign was undertaken to put a series of commericals on the Discovery Channel during airing of the program "Rocket Challenge," a special on rocketry and LDRS. Those advertisements directed viewers to visit a website called FlyRockets.com.

The three 15 second commercials ran during each airing of the program, which ran six times, and was estimated to reach six million homes. The FlyRockets.com website was created to provide information to anyone wanting to know more about rocketry, and continues to be a very active site, receiving about 700 visitors each day.  In the interest of keeping the information provided on the site about rocketry vendors and local clubs accurate, the site's administrator is asking all currently listed clubs and vendors to take a moment to check and update their listings. 

"Everyone who has a listing on the site has received an email with details on how to do this, but I'm sure there are some listings on there that have invalid email addresses," said Greg Deputy, the FlyRockets.com site administrator.  To get the word out, Deputy has been posting instructions on various hobby rocketry forums. 

For those who have listings on the FlyRockets.com website, here is how you can update your information:

To update a vendor listing, please visit: http://saverocketrynow.org/manage/vendorEditLogin.asp

For clubs, please visit: http://saverocketrynow.org/manage/clubEditLogin.asp

You can log in there with your email address and password.  If you do not recall your password, you can have it emailed to you from the URL above. Once logged into the site, please make any necessary changes.  Even if no changes to the existing information are needed, please click the 'Save' button.  This will mark the record with the current date and keep it from expiring.

Thirty days from now, all vendor listings that have not been updated in the last 12 months will be expired. Once expired, listings can be re-activated simply by visiting the site above and clicking the save button.
