NEW HAVEN, Connecticut USA — It was a blast this morning for the 5th graders at John C. Daniels School in New Haven.  Their month long project of building and launching their model rockets, lifted off with precision accuracy.

"I thought it was cool, but I never thought they would go that high,, but they did," said student, Joseph Lopez.

The rockets went high into the sky, reaching 150 feet on average.  It was an impressive show, in fact it's incredibly similar to what they do at NASA.  "It's actually very close to what they do.  It's the same principles just a whole lot cheaper," said model rocket expert Al Gloer.

"The teachers assigned us partners and together we had to build and design the rockets," said student Sophia Figueroa.

The students designed and prepared nearly 30 rockets, all of which took off successfully and landed safely.
