ImageBATON ROUGE, Louisiana USA — Giant Leap Rocketry, Inc. now offers the Avionics Bay for the Slim-shot separately, without the electronics. The Avionics Bay mounts to the forward closure of a 54mm or 38mm Aerotech-style motor or user-specified locations.

The Slim Shot can also mount to centering rings, bulkheads or other surfaces and can be easily moved from one location to another. Now you can use your electronics without having a dedicated avionics compartment in the rocket.

All mounting hardware is included. The Avionics Bay is machined from 6061 T6 aircraft grade aluminum and is anodized in black. The unit is available for $43.95.

The full Slim-Shot package has also been upgraded to include a capacitor on the electronics board, to insure the ability to ignite a wider variety of ejection initiators.

I have a SlimShot and my favorite part of it is this cannister. It's a cinch to mount and easy to load and unload. I don't tend to use it on my motor opting for the nose since this allows the motor to act as a backup.

So if you want a place to put that timer or accelerometer based altimeter - here's a good option!
