Experience Rocketry Planet Chat

Rocketry Planet provides free chat rooms for you to discuss the topic of hobby rocketry, however you must be a registered user in order to use them. Registration is free, so if you haven't registered for an account yet, go ahead — it'll only take a few minutes.

You must be logged in in order to use the chat software. After you have logged in, you will see an "Enter Chatroom" link in the dropdown menu under "Chat". You will not see these links unless you are logged in.

The chat software is a Flash application and runs in a window that you can resize to fit your screen or expand it to full screen. You will need the latest Flash browser plug-in to be able to utilize the chat software.

Once you are in the chat application, you will still be free to move around the site or anywhere else on the Internet. To exit, simply close the window.

As currently configured, the chat areais divided into four chat rooms:

  1. Rocket Talk: A general discussion chat area on all topics.
  2. Model Rocketry Talk: A topic-specific discussion about model rocketry.
  3. High Power Rocketry Talk: A topic-specific discussion about high power rocketry.
  4. Amateur/Experimental Rocketry Talk: A topic-specific discussion about amateur and experimental rocketry.

We have added a NASA-TV feed, allowing you to view NASA-TV while you are chatting with friends. You can access the same chat rooms as the regular "Enter Chatroom" link does, the only difference will be the NASA-TV video stream window in the left-hand side of the browser window. The link to the NASA-TV chat is in the dropdown menu under "Chat".

Rocketry Planet will provide any rocketry-oriented club, group or organization their own chat room. All you have to do is This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it  requesting a chat room and we will configure it for you. You should explain who you are, why you want the chat room set up and when you will be using it. If you want to schedule regular online meetings using your chat room, let us know your schedule and we will publish it here for others to see.

Note: Firefox users may need to download and install the Windows Media Player plugin for the Firefox browser to view Rocketry Planet webcasts. Plugins can be found at the Firefox Plugins Page.
