DALLAS, Texas USA — John Dyer announced yesterday the release of two new Red River Rocketry kits: the Merlin, a large payloader-style rocket featuring a 2.25" diameter booster with a 2.56" payload section, and the Red Strike, a model reminiscent of a rocket-powered military drone with a unique two-wing design. Initially introduced at NARAM in July, the two exceeded Dyer's expections. "I released two new kits at NARAM50, and they sold so well, I had to wait until I had enough parts made to announce them here," Dyer said in an online announcement yesterday. The Merlin features a 29mm motor mount mounted in a laser-slotted thick-wall body tube, measuring 42 inches in length. The booster is 2.25" in diameter and transistions upward to 2.56" at the payload section. A 24" rip-stop nylon parachute, laser-cut basswood fins, full-color waterslide decals round out the kit, which weighs just 15 ounces. The Red Strike features laser-cut fins and a unique military-styled design for flights up to 500 feet. Fully illustrated instructions and full-color waterslide decals make this a sharp looking rocket. Weighing just 1.2 ounces, and measuring 13 inches, this model really moves. More information can be found on both models at the Red River Rocketry website. Website: http://www.redriverrocketry.com/
