GORMLEY, Ontario CAN — The CAR Motor Certification Committee has tested and certified a new Pro54® Dual Thrust™ reload kit using our popular Classic™ propellant. The new K590 motor is a Dual Thrust motor providing a military-style boost-sustain thrust profile with a thrust-ratio of about 3:1. This means very high boost acceleration for safe and perfect straight flights of the pad, followed by a long sustain phase for maximum altitude and minimum airframe loads. Specifications: | Type | Case | Impulse Total(Ns) | Burn Time(s) | | K590-15A | 6G | 2398 | 4.1 |
The Dual Thrust motors simulate the concept of a two-stage rocket, but without the complexity of separate stages, multiple airframe components and staging electronics. These new Dual Thrust motors are great for altitude attempts! More types of motors are in the works. Website: http://www.pro38.com/

Re: Article: Cesaroni announces new Pro54 "Dual Thrust" motor
Is this accomplished through two diferent core types, linked somehow? What causes the transition and change in burn profile?

I love competition. Especially when I have this case! Any other cases/loads availabilities for these type of motors in the pipeline??

I would tell you but I might be accused of being biased.

Re: Article: Cesaroni announces new Pro54 "Dual Thrust" motor
If I had to guess, and that's all it is... I'd say there was a BATES configuration for the bottom and an end-burning top. I would say it was a finocyl but those normally have a gradual drop off I think whereas this motor has a very sharp drop off.
A very cool motor!
