The Cluster Whips are made of 22 gauge wire for maximum firing power. The igniter clips are copper with flat ends for better grip on the igniter wires, and are easily cleaned with fine grit sandpaper. Each clip is clamped and soldered during assembly, using lead-free solder for better connections and maximum power. The two contact ends that connect to the launch controller are also soldered to prevent loose ends and loss of power from the controller to the engines. All leads are soldered, joined together and then shrink-wrapped to keep out dust and water. Each Cluster Whip is checked for continuity and proper operation before being shipped, and measure 20" in length from the launch controller connection to each clip end, with the common joint halfway in between. It is suggested that customers purchase the largest size Cluster Whip they might need, that Cluster Whips will easily handle clusters of smaller sizes. For example, if you buy an 8 engine Cluster Whip, it will also launch any cluster from 2 through 8 engines. To use with smaller clusters, just clip each unused cluster igniter leads to their own insulation. As long as the ends don't come in contact with each other, or shorting out against a metal launch deflector, it will work fine.
