WORLD WIDE WEB — The web site for the Tripoli Rocketry Association's LDRS 28 web site is now up. This is a work in progress, so not every feature is online yet. There are maps and directions to the launch site, photos of the launch site, as well as the LDRS 28 discussion forum, which is open as well.
You can get your rooms at the host hotel or other hotels in the area, as well as check out the camp site information. Be sure to reserve your rooms early, as July 4th is very busy in that part of the state. Check back often, as the launch site layout and spaces will be added, as well as registration for the launch and banquet. LDRS 28 is sponsored by ROCKETS Magazine and hosted by Pyro, MDRA, METRA and Central VA Tripoli. Website: http://www.ldrs28.org/

Might just end up being the Woodstock of Rocketry. Beautiful area, great people - sure to be an especially huge and groovy time.

Re: Article: The LDRS 28 web site is now available
I'm not so sure. Without on site camping and limited lodging facilities close by, it could discourage some from coming. At the least some may have quite a daily commute to and from the launch field. Of course having it back east is great for those close by and the east coasters will be out in force and I think that is great. It does look like a nice place to fly. But I am questioning if I can make the trip if in addition to the cost of getting out there I have to pay for lodging while I'm there.

Doug
We are discussing with the land owner about on site camping. When we know more we will post it on the LDRS 28 web site

Doug-
If you come, we can compare camera projects.
I should have Zoinks! ready for an M-powered flight by that time...

Re: Article: The LDRS 28 web site is now available
I am very tempted to make the trip. It looks like a fantastic place to do some photography, at least more colors near the shorter wavelength end of the spectrum. More importantly I have a brother in Rochester plus more family along the way. So I am frequently checking the LDRS web page for the updates. If I can make it, I would be happy to show anyone my rocket movies from high speed movie cameras. And of course I would bring a few camera rockets to shoot a little film...

There is no finer photography rocket person in the hobby than Doug Gerrard and everyone in the rocketry community can learn from this fine person.
