CARLSBAD, California USA — blacksky Corporation, formerly Black Sky Research Associates, announces immediate availability of its new Internet web site www.blacksky.com offering a full range of industry leading avionics, rail launch systems and advanced recovery technology.

"blacksky's mission is Real Rocket Science - consumer aerospace products and services that responsibly deliver both the joy of flying as well as knowledge of the underlying science and engineering," said Scott Bartel, founder and President of blacksky.

blacksky's industry leading product set includes:

  • the AltAcc v1.26 Recording Accelerometer and Altimeter with Dual Deployment - an inherently Mach safe, dual deployment avionics system that provides dual sensor flight information for analysis with blacksky’s Flight Analyzer software for Windows 9x, DOS and Palm to provide post flight analysis of acceleration, velocity as well as altitude. AltAcc data can be used to derive both the in-flight motor thrust curves as well as airframe drag. And the AltAcc is amazingly compact and easy to use. Only $180.
  • the Timer2 Dual Event Digital in-flight timer with all solid state G-switch design. Compact and easy-to-use with the same form factor as the AltAcc. Only $70.
  • the Standard Rail is the smaller sibling of blacksky’s Rail System - using our standard Rail Guides for model, MPR and HPR projects. Less drag and more pointing accuracy off the launcher. Available backward compatible to existing 3/8" rod launch pads or adapt to your custom launch pad. From $40.
  • the HPR Rail, a second generation of blacksky's industry standard ProRail, uses the same Rail Guides as the Standard Rail but has the inherent design strength of a 1" steel rod to support those big HPR and L3 projects. Available as backward compatible to 1/2" rod launch pads or for your custom launch pads. From $100.

"These products are proven from hundreds of users worldwide for thousands of flights", said Ken Biba, CEO of blacksky.

Immediate availability of most products (and more!) as well as in depth information about both avionics and launchers is directly from the company through its ecommerce site www.blacksky.com. Software updates, example flight analyses from blacksky collected data, and technical reports on avionics and launchers are available there as well.

blacksky's team includes founders Scott Bartel and Konrad Hambrick and has been expanded by Ken Biba and Dave Rasmussen - the author of blacksky's new Flight Analyzer for Windows software.
