VAN ORIN, Illinois USA — Tim Lehr of Wildman Rocketry will be closing for rest of this week to try and get some of his backlogged orders cleaned up, and would like customers to know he is sorry for the backlog he recently experienced following an injury he experienced the day before Thanksgiving.

"I would like to apologize for the service from Wildman's over the past month," Lehr stated in an online communication with Rocketry Planet.

Many may not  know that Lehr had a harrowing accident in November with a pallet jack, in which he lost the end of his little finger on his left hand.

"I know it doesn't sound like much but when it's crushed off, it creates some problems," Lehr added.

Lehr had a skin graft the day after Christmas, and pending the success of that surgery, he should be close to normal in about two weeks.  If the surgery doesn't hold, the doctors may have to take off more of the finger tip.

"My wife is a wonderful person and trying very hard to do what she what she can," Lehr said.  "I am going to close for the rest of the week and try to get some of the back logged stuff cleaned up."

Lehr wants to thank everyone for their continued patience.

Ouch!

I had the same thing happen to my thumb. When I was 16 my thumb went through the rear sprocket of my dirt bike. They were able to save it. The first surgeon wanted to amputate it. But a plastic surgeon was able to save it. My life would definitely have been impacted if I had lost the use of my thumb.

Hope you get better soon! Hope to see you at a launch soon!

OOOUUCH is right I had a finger tip cut about half way off once, had it between the hitch of a trailer and ball on the truck. I'll never do that again!! Rather have that happen though than what happened to Tim. A few stitches including 2 through the finger nail and the repair was complete. Finger tip injuries are very painfull, leaving a person pretty much one handed until it is healed. Hope everything works out well Tim.

Holy crap. Lets hope one surgery was enough.

I've had my share of avulsions (technical term) to my fingers and toes. Still have a major scar on my right pointer finger when I almost cut it off with a paper slicer.

Get well soon, and enjoy the heavy pain killers I'm sure they'll give you a heck of a trip (I've been on them before, trust me)

Eeek...I messed my thumb up once splitting wood but it wasn't as bad as that. Mine just required a few stitches and a few weeks of recovery. You have my sympathies.

Man! That looks bad! Thanks for communicating effectively with your customers. And thanks for your help at LDRS. You didn't have to buy that L1300 from me but you knew I was in I bind. I won't forget it. Hope your recovery goes smoothly and quickly! -Blair
