The new RASAero Version 1.0.1.0 software can be downloaded from the RASAero web site Software Download page. The following corrections and changes have been made for the Version 1.0.1.0 of the RASAero software: 1) Made corrections to solve problems that arose when installed and run on computers using European regional settings. 2) Made corrections to fix errors in equivalent sand roughness (surface finish) skin friction coefficient calculations for very rough surface finish rockets. Errors caused very rough surface finish rockets to fly higher than same rocket with a smoother (reduced roughness) surface finish. 3) Made corrections to check that the fin can outer diameter is larger than the body tube diameter. 4) Corrected two misspelled words on rocket input descriptions. 5) The Email address used to send an email from the RASAero software support page has been corrected. (Email had to be forwarded from the old email address.) The RASAero software continues to be free software, and continues to get wide distribution throughout the model rocket, high power rocket, Tripoli Research, and the alt.space/New Space communities. Many users have positively commented on the accuracy of the RASAero altitude predictions when compared to flight data for many of their rockets. The RASAero authors are always looking for flight data to compare our altitude predictions against to help further improve the accuracy of our flight simulations. Flight data from rockets flown with barometric altimeters, GPS altimeters, accelerometer-based data for Mach number; are all actively being sought by the RASAero authors. Note that it is important for the flight data that the rocket have been weighed prior to launch for an accurate liftoff weight. The flight data and rocket information can be sent to the e-mail address below. Additional information on the RASAero software can be found on the RASAero web site at www.rasaero.com. The RASAero authors, Charles E. (Chuck) Rogers and David (Coop) Cooper can be contacted at This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it .
