ImageWORLD WIDE WEB - Essence's Model Rocketry Reviews is pleased to announce their fifth annual EMRR Challenge: "The next STAGE to take in rocketry." The Challenge is designed to provide rocketeers with some milestones to achieve throughout the year with the opportunity to win some fantastic prizes.

This year's challenge demonstrates continuous improvement from prior years.

First, there are many more prizes from EMRR-ware as you move up the levels. Although this, in itself, is worth pursuing the challenge, the real prizes are provided by Public Missiles, Semroc Astronautics, and Squirrel Works.

Gold Prize:  Public Missiles (PML):  Thunder ~N~ Lightning high-power 2-stage rocket kit

Silver Prize: Semroc Astronautics: set of 5 staged rocket kits plus a $50 Gift Certificate

Bronze Prize: Squirrel Works: set of 2 staged rocket kits

The contest has been designed to allow faster progression toward the various prize levels.  The milestone bonuses from last year are still in place which helps encourage participation and not procrastination. The HIT LIST rocket builds are generated from entrants existing build pile as long as the rocket has not yet been reviewed on EMRR.

For those that are into mid or high power, there is a staging bonus for using only composites in a staged rocket.

Prizes totaling over $1000, simplified criteria, and a focus on staged rockets are sure to get everyone involved.  Sign up today.

But wait, there's more!  Additional bonus prizes are available for those that participate in the 2009 "Design This Spaceship Contest."

EMRR has focused this spaceship challenge on the "Future of Space Travel."  There are six spaceship designs that are better suited to the wide-variety of skill and available supplies that most rocketeers have available to them.

The primary sponsorship comes from Apogee Books who is supplying three copies of the book "Creating Space," by Mat Irvine with the forward by Sir Arthur C. Clarke.  Other prizes include rockets from Red River Rocketry, Art Applewhite Rockets, Sirius Rocketry, Semroc Astronautics, and Model Minutes.

For more information and to sign up, visit EMRR at http://www.rocketreviews.com/ and click on "Contests."

Not only is the Cosmodrome Aerobee Hi a great kit, it is challenging and will teach most people quite a bit. It would just barely qualify for MPR though. It has to be boosted on a good sized G (G80, G77, etc).

for the EMRR challenge, you have to design and build the rocket from scratch.
