ImageFor the first time in many years, the National Association of Rocketry Annual Convention - NARCON returns to New England. Hosted by CATO, NAR Section 581, the conference will take place on March 20-22 in Wethersfield, CT. This year NARCON will be a little different as it is set up like many professional conferences with discrete tracks of presentations.

Also a bit new this year is a focus on the learning aspects of rocketry and how it can be used to foster interest in young folks toward a career in the technology fields.

This is a first time thing for CATO and their president Al Gloer, who can honestly say:  "Now I know why not many folks step up to the challenges of hosting national events. This is way too much like work." CATO has a very active outreach and hosting NARCON seemed like the pinnacle of that effort.

As usual NARCON will have the Vendor Showcase where the best in rocketry suppliers will show their wares. and host the annual NAR town Meeting, where attendees can listen to and discuss those matters with Trip Barber (NAR President) and the rest of the NAR leadership.

More information on the conference can be found at http://www.narcon2009.org/.
