ImageLEXINGTON, Michigan USA — Gordon Agnello of Roachwerks Custom Machining announced today that he has purchased Excelsior Rocketry, an online provider of hobby rocketry water-slide decals.  The announcement on Ye Olde Rocket Forum was a follow up to a previous announcement that Excelsior was for sale earlier this month.

Excelsior produces a wide variety of decal sheets like this.

In early April, Fred Talasco, founder of Excelsior Rocketry, announced on the forum that his company was for sale, citing time constraints as the reason. "Due to the increased time that my full time job is demanding of me, as well as the demands of my personal life, I have decided to place Excelsior Rocketry up for sale," Talasco said in an April 8th posting. "This decision is made with heavy heart, after much soul searching."

Prospective new owners would receive everything Talasco used in the operation of his business, which included hundreds of decal layout files in CorelDraw format, and all stock, which included a large assortment of the special ALPS ink and hundreds of sheets of decal paper.  Also part of the deal was the special ALPS printers, including "the latest MD5500, direct from Japan."

Agnello was quick to snap up the company, promising to continue the same, high quality decal production that Excelsior has been known for.

"All decal sets that are currently being produced by Excelsior Rocketry will continue to be produced. Even the Goonies," Agnello said in his announcement. "Nothing will change except the address."

Right now, the company is temporarily closed while Talasco finishes filling outstanding orders before packing everything up for shipment to Agnello. No new orders will be accepted until the equipment is installed and ready to go at Agnello's operation.  Gordon is asking that customers give him at least three weeks to make the transition.

This ends up a good thing. Exelsior will still exist and it's a good fit with Roachworks.

Gordon is a class act. Good luck!
