BATON ROUGE, Louisiana USA — Giant Leap Rocketry, Inc. has released a redesign of their two launch towers. The new towers use three Extreme Rails to guide the rocket into the air instead of the round rods on the earlier design. The rails are stronger, lighter and have virtually no whip. These towers allow you to launch your rocket without the use of rail guides or lugs. According to Ed at Giant Leap, "It’s the secret weapon for low-drag, high altitude flights." As before, the towers fit onto any launch pad that accepts a 1/2" rod. The Giant Leap towers come in two sizes: the Standard Tower is 4 feet tall and is good for rockets up to and including 3" in diameter. The Long Tower is 7 feet tall and is suitable for rockets 4" in diameter and larger. To learn more about these new towers, please log on to: http://www.giantleaprocketry.com/ |

I have one of the large towers and it is really a beautiful thing. I got it last year but was not able to get it out to the launch site. I haven't tried it yet but hope to do do soon. This is a really fine piece of launch gear and anyone would be happy to have it in their kit. I'll pop in a report once I've used it. Don't wait though, pull the trigger, this is a great tower.
