Sunward confirmed today it will be exhibiting at the Wings & Wheels Heritage Festival being held at Downsview Park May 22 to May 24, Toronto.

The event, now the fourth annual, also celebrates the anniversaries of the centennial of the first powered flight in Canada, by J.A.D. McCurdy, in the Silver Dart, at Baddeck, Nova Scotia, on February 23, 1909; the centennial of the first flight in Toronto, by  Charles Willard, in the Golden Flyer, at Scarborough Beach Amusement Park, on September 2, 1909; and the 85th anniversary of the  Royal Canadian Air Force.

This family friendly event is held in the original de Havilland Canada manufacturing facilities. The past, the present and the future meet with examples of vintage aircraft, jets, airliners and helicopters and classic and modern cars, motorcycles, military vehicles and trucks.

Featured aircraft include the museum's Avro Arrow replica which celebrates the pinnacle of aviation in the 1950's. The public will also be able to see the Avro Lancaster currently under restoration. Visiting aircraft include "Hawk One" a beautifully restored flying Canadair Sabre jet painted in the colours of the Golden Hawks aerobatic team, who thrilled crowds around the world before being replaced by the Snowbirds flying their Tutor trainers. The museum has a fine example of the Tutor on display.

Automotive enthusiasts will enjoy the wide selection of vintage, custom and working vehicles. The "Show & Shine" event is back where awards are given based on public voting in a number of categories.
