Sunday at LDRS was bigger and better, with high flights

POTTER, New York USA — Sunday, day four of LDRS 28, was truly magnificent, with hardly a cloud in the sky and low winds with periods of absolute calm. Fliers kept a steady stream of projects on the pads, including many large rockets that had been waiting on calmer winds than Friday and Saturday provided.
The Wildman drag race, pictured below, featured seven Wildman kits flew on six M motors and one L. All flew straight up, and appeared to recover just fine — and the roar from the flight line was incredible.
The Gates Brothers flew their Porthos on one M2500T and six K1100T's — it truly screamed going up) as well as their Sumo, pictured below on five White Lightning M motors, both for flawless flights. The Gates Brothers seem to really like their huge chutes too — their big rockets hovered in the air for what seemed like an eternity.

Nice drag race liftoff photos. They remind me of the first (U.S. Rockets) Firestarter-tm flights at LDRS 1990 at Hartsel, CO. The first ever seen Firestarters-tm had crowd reactions that cannot be properly conveyed in text format.

Beautiful photos.

I was standing next to John Ritz for the drag race and he said "That has to be the best thing I have ever seen in Rocketry".

I think that the Nike Smoke (bottom right slide show) is actually the new Pro75-5G L1410 Skidmark motor, and not an 'M' motor. Correct me if I'm wrong, please.

You are correct.
Pro75-5G L1410 Skidmark motor properly annotated in the copy. Thanks for that heads up.
