ImageDENVER, Colorado USA — A new mid-power manufacturer has tossed their hat in the model rocketry kit manufacturing business, Mike's Mid Power Rockets, owned by Michael Adams of Denver, Colorado.

According to an online posting announcing the new company, Adams' plans are to work in the mid-power market.

"My goal is to provide you with quality mid power rockets and support equipment along with great customer service," Adams stated. "I will also be developing technical information that addresses the needs of mid power rocket enthusiasts."

Adams says he is a life-long rocketeer, having got the bug in the late 60's at the height of NASA's Apollo program.

"When I got started in rocketry, I was around 9 or 10 and the Estes ad in the back of Popular Science magazine said for ages 10 and up," Adams writes on his model rocket blog. "Wow, they sure could get a kid excited by showing a sleek rocket zipping across the ad box claiming flights to over 1000 feet!"

Adams' first mid-powered kit is a 2.6" model that stands about 4 feet tall, named the Ni Hao, which is Mandarin for "hello." This is an entry-level rocket for mid power and features a 29mm motor mount and a 24" parachute.

The next kit slated for release is a 2.6" Black Brant II, a 29mm motor mount-equipped scale model expected to be released at the end of the month.

Adams' ground support product line includes a light-weight PVC launch pad that can accommodate up to 3/8" rods.  He also is offering custom-cut vinyl graphics on a special order basis.

"I am a long time sign maker and am able to provide you with graphics for your rockets," Adams stated in his announcement. "Contact me and I can price graphics for your application."
