NAPAS seminar features firing of hybrid Q motor |

GORMLEY, Ontario CAN — A special seminar was held this past weekend for rocketeers from the Great White North.
The North American Propulsion and Aerospace Society of Gormley, Ontario, Canada held their second in a series of seminars for members on June 6, 1999.
The purpose of this particular seminar was to cover electronic launch recovery and featured guest speaker Scott Bartel of the Blacksky Corporation.
A suprise visit by Korey Kline of Hypertek and eAc fame culminated with the test firing of a Hyperion 1A hybrid rocket motor at Cesaroni Technology Incorporated's plant in Gormley, Ontario, Canada.
The nitrous/HTPB hybrid motor produced just over 1500 pounds of thrust for a 20 second duration, the functional equivalent of a "Q" motor.
