ImageGOODYEAR, Arizona USA — XAVIEN has re-opened for business following the return of owner Steve Kosmerchock. Kosmerchock deployed overseas as a civilian engineer in July, working with the Army's 576th MAC Company, where he was responsible for repairing ground penetrating radar units.

"I am back from Afghanistan safe and sound and actually have a new timer as well as a 2-stage altimeter in the prototype process," Kosmerchock said in correspondence. Both units were designed while Kosmerchock was in the Marine FOB Camp Leatherneck, which is in the Helmond province in southern Afghanistan.

"I was there before and during the elections," Kosmerchock stated, "generally the most violent time." During Kosmerchock's free time, he designed two new electronic devices while hanging out in a tent with 20+ soldiers who performed route clearance on some of the most dangerous routes in southern Afghanistan.

XMFT-1 (XAVIEN Multi-Function Timer)
This unit will have different modes of operation which includes the XCET-1, XDSRT-1, XSSRT-1 and XCIC-1 plus a few other modes. This will allow the user to purchase one timer to fill multiple roles on different projects. The idea is to give the users a "mini" Swiss Army knife timer unit. The unit will be red, and the first batch of units will have "Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan 2009" printed on them as a commemorative mark.

XDDA-1 (XAVIEN Dual Deployment Altimeter)
The XDDA-1 will be a 2-stage altimeter with peak audible reporting and continuity reporting. The unit will be blue, and the first batch of units will have "Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan 2009" printed on them as a commemorative mark.

As soon as the units are complete, they will be available on the Xavien website for purchase.  At press time, pricing was not finalized.
