COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado USA — Apogee Components is pleased to announce the release of the new 13mm diameter C6 composite propellant rocket motor! The new motor is NAR certified, with competition certification coming by the end of the year. California certification is pending. And the motor is now in stock and available for immediate shipping!
The new skinny-mini motor packs a walloping 10 Newton-seconds of power in the small 13mm diameter X 83mm long (3.25 inch) case. It comes in three different tracking delays of 4, 7 or 10 seconds. The motor is a moon burning configuration, and features the easier to ignite Aerotech "White Lightning" formula propellant. This gives it a deep throaty roar, and a brilliant white exhaust flame with lots of black tracking smoke. It comes with a copperhead igniter and complete instructions for use.
The C6 was designed as a high performance competition motor. Because of its skinny size, the motor can be put into a smaller diameter rocket which has substantially lower drag. This allows the rocket to fly significantly higher and faster. The motor was designed as a medium thrust motor, so it can be used in a variety of rockets, from egglofters, to gliders.
