EMRR is a social sharing, archiving and resource site for rocketry enthusiasts. Since January of 1998, EMRR has been a leading source of rocketry product reviews and articles on the web. In addition to reviews of rocket kits and other products, EMRR contains an archive of ROCKSIM files, flight logs for hundreds of rocketeers, and a library of hints and tips. Throughout each year, EMRR sponsors a number of rocketry contests including the EMRR Challenge. Roger Smith is a software developer and rocketry hobbyist. Smith currently maintains PayloadBay.com, a personal rocketry site, and JonRocket.com, an ecommerce web site selling model rocket kits and parts. Smith brings thirty years of software development experience to the site as well as a life-long love of rocketry. "The sale process was slow and with purpose. It was important to me to get the right person to run EMRR going forward," Esselman stated. "As I have always said, I'm not only the webmaster, but also a user of EMRR. Now that I'm not going to be the webmaster, I still wanted to be a satisfied user." Visitors to EMRR should see no major changes or service interruptions during the transition to the new, dedicated server. After the transition, improvements to the web site will begin, slowly and carefully. "Obviously, EMRR is a well-respected and well-run web site. Nick Esselman and the volunteers helping him have done excellent work over the past decade. My primary goal is to 'do no harm.' But, I do see many opportunities to improve the web site, both from the user's perspective and to make it easier to maintain and update," Smith said. Contact information: |

Bob
I am extremely glad to see EMRR will live on. There is too much information on EMRR to let it go away. I'm going through a rough time with the recent loss of my wife, but once I find what my new "normal" is, I will be willing to assist you with EMRR if you so desire.

Roger,
I look forward to continuing to support the site and working with you.
It's a great resource for rocketeers.
