HERNDON, Virginia USA — Pratt Hobbies announces new "micro" kit for Apogee and Micro Maxx motors!
Pratt Hobbies is previewing the first in a series of new, tiny sport scale model rocket kits. The Micro D-Region Tomahawk is designed to use the popular 10.5mm motors from Apogee Components, or the new Micro Maxx motors from Quest. A motor mount adapter is included. The Micro D Region Tomahawk is a scale model of a famous NASA sounding rocket. The Pratt Hobbies kit features an ultra-light molded plastic nose cone and sheet styrene fins. A self-adhesive wrap covers the body of the model. Cutting slots in the wrap provides a strong, precise attachment point for the plastic fins. Kevlar shock cord and plastic streamer are also included. The kit will sell for $6.00 retail.
The Micro D Region Tomahawk can be flown from conventional launch pads or from the Quest Micro Maxx launcher. The instructions include plans build a simple adapter for the Micro Maxx ignition system to allow it to fire Apogee (or any other) igniters. No changes to the launch system itself are necessary.
Reservations are now being taken on the Pratt Hobbies web site (http://www.pratthobbies.com) for this new kit, which is scheduled to be released in October. Work is underway on the next kits, a Sandhawk and an Iris. For the latest news, visit the Pratt Hobbies website.
