World Wide Web — Essence's Model Rocketry Reviews (EMRR) has now entered into it's third year of life and has received a face-lift for the new year. After listening to the many guests, we have generated a new, faster navigation scheme to allow quicker movement throughout the site. Some of the initial beta-siter's comments have been promising:
"I visited the new site. Excellent. Very clean. Crisp and uncluttered." - Bill
"Looks great!" - Eric
"Yours is my favorite site on the web. Keep up the great work!" - Wayne
The face-lift is not all that has happened, though. EMRR has added a new database feature that allows all users to input their flight log records for rockets that are reviewed on the site. That list includes over 300 production rocketry products and nearly 150 M.O.P.S. rockets. M.O.P.S. stands for Modifications, OOP, Plans and Scratch. And don't forget the five RMR DesCon Contests. Now the contestants can record their flight log activity on their entries! EMRR even provides guidance to help you create a link that you can use to get your flight logs in two formats.
EMRR has also integrated Roger Sligar's "Buy Rockets - A Buyers Guide" website to allow easy access to shopping comparison information when you've made the decision to purchase a rocket product.
These new features are available to all guests. In addition, we have allowed access to EMRR's SuperSearch, Parachute and Streamer Size Calculators, and Jordan Hiller's Descent Calculator (latest revision - non-java). These were only available to those with "my EMRR" pages. But don't worry, "my EMRR" pages have not gone away so you can still customize your startup web page. "my EMRR" pages will also get an upgrade in a few months.
And lastly, don't forget the Rocket Give-Aways and Special Contests throughout the year. We are currently running a Scale Photo Contest in partnership with True Modeler's Rocket Kits so be sure to check into it.
We look forward to seeing you visit Essence's Model Rocketry Reviews and hope your new year of rocketry is filled with many launches and recoveries! |
