SPRINGFIELD, West Virginia USA — Blackhawk R&D and Saturn Press announced today a scale contest to be held at this years LDRS in Orangeburg, SC over the July 4th holiday. The winner will receive a $50 Blackhawk R&D gift certificate as well as a $25 Saturn Press gift certificate.
The contest is open to models of real missiles, research rockets and space launch vehicles. Every participating flight must make a safe, stable flight with a successful recovery deployment after completing a form at the Blackhawk R&D booth and alerting the judges to view the flight.
All participating models should include lower stages and boosters, though the stages need not separate. Models missing lower stages will lose points. The model will be judged against a drawing, painting, or photo of the real rocket, not of a kit. Judges will have Saturn Press books on hand, but for other rockets not included in them, you must provide pictures.

Prizes will be awarded July 4th or via US Mail should the winning contestant leave early. |
