ACWORTH, Georgia USA — At Tripoli’s national launch (LDRS) this summer LawnDart Rocketry started selling clone kits of four discontinued Estes kits (Trident, Sky Dart, Orbital Transport and Scissorwing Transport). In September LawnDart started to offer them at their website. Then Estes stepped in and asked LawnDart not to sell versions of their old kits. Not having the money to challenge Estes in court over abandoned trademarks, LawnDart stopped making the kits.
Now those kits and more are on their way back. LawnDart Rocketry will be offering boxes-of-parts kits and reproduction decal packs. LawnDart has completely rewritten the instructions, redrawn the decals, and updated the building materials (kevlar shock cords, ASP mylar parachutes, and Pratt Hobbies Heatshield parachute protectors). Where the majority of the parts were from Estes in the original clone kits, there are no Estes brand parts in the new box-of-parts.
The Box-of-Parts include all the parts needed to build an updated replica of the kit with instructions. It does not include decals (which are available separately). These kits require more skill and experience than the originals. There are no die-cut parts, so there is more cutting and shaping required—you actually get to build these kits.

LDR-23: Box-of-Parts #3 - can be used to build a replica of the Scissorwing Transport - $30
LDR-24: Box-of-Parts #4 - can be used to build a replica of the Sky Dart - $30
LDR-25: Box-of-Parts #5 - can be used to build a replica of the Andromeda - $30
LDR-26: Box-of-Parts #6 - can be used to build a replica of the Pegasus 1.3x upscale (for 18mm motors) - $25
LDR-31: Trident decal set - $5.00
