CARLSBAD, California USA — blacksky is constantly striving to improve service and products. Nothing improves service like having goods on the shelf. To do this, blacksky has entered into an agreement with a major electronic component supplier to guarantee long term delivery of critical electronic components for the AltAcc. This will allow blacksky to better schedule production and assure prompt delivery.

Improvements to the AltAcc2A include better components, incremental design changes and improved testing techniques. blacksky is pleased to announce Revision B of the blacksky AltAcc2A – barometric altimeter, integrating accelerometer, data logger and rocket recovery electronics.

The improvements include better mounting for the brownout capacitor (as retrofit on Revision A), improved components for better reliability, an enhanced testing program, and a new look. The new look is black soldermask and is the new standard for current and future blacksky electronics.

As always, the AltAcc2A provides reliability, compact size, ease of use and more data than any other comparable flight electronics on the market.

blacksky is also pleased to announce the availability of several accessories for the AltAcc2A, the Environmental Housing and AltAcc Remote Arming Panel (ARAP).

The Environmental Housing is a custom aluminum extrusion and cover that securely captures the AltAcc (also available for the Timer2N) and protects it against typical field hazards such as bumps and handling. The Environmental Housing may also be sealed to allow use in close proximity to ejection charges.

Mounting the Environmental housing in your rocket is easy because it uses the AltAcc2A mounting template, no changes necessary.

NOTE: The Environmental Housing will not protect the AltAcc against ballistic impact.

The AltAcc Remote Arming Panel (ARAP) allows total control of the AltAcc from up to 18 inches (45cm) away. The ARAP is a small PCB with a screw-down Power Switch, Arming Switch, LED, and Serial Port connection. An 18 inch cable is standard for the ARAP with custom lengths available for special applications.

The ARAP also has solder terminals on the board to allow the use of your own switches. All of these products are available from stock.
