WORLD WIDE WEB — The upcoming show will air on Jan. 24, 2001 9 p.m. and midnight ET/PT. For those not familiar with Junkyard Wars, it is a show where two teams have a limited amount of time to find items and parts in a junkyard to build various kinds of vehicles in order to compete in a head to head contest between the two vehicles.

In past shows they have build cars, boats, and airplanes. The newest upcoming show will feature a contest to build a high power rocket. And, the contest will be to "build a rocket that will take an ostrich egg up as high as possible and then return it safely to the ground. Only one team manages to bring its payload safely back; the other team makes plans for an omelet brunch."

According to the Discovery Channel, the judges for the event will be as follows:

Judge: Ky Michaelson is 62 years old and has been obsessed with rockets ever since he was a kid and saw a rocket in a book. He started trying to make rocket fuel with his first chemistry set. He now holds 72 state national and international speed records with rocket-powered vehicles, including rocket-powered boats, cars, snowmobiles and motorcycles — and he's even achieved 52 mph on roller skates with a rocket-powered backpack! Ky was also a famous stuntman for decades, doubling for Burt Reynolds in films such as Smokey and the Bandit and appearing in Lethal Weapon. He still works as a stunt coordinator and has been involved in more than 200 feature films and TV shows.

Expert 1: A native of Granada Hills, Calif., James Tucci has been involved in hobby and sport rocketry for over 33 years. His passion for rockets began at school, when he launched a fellow pupil in a rocket-powered red wagon across the school gym! He's worked as a production engineer on space optical systems and telescopes, and has also designed, tested and assembled space-rated systems for NASA and the military. James has also competed for and won various rocketry awards at the regional and national level.

Expert 2: Bruce Lee's fascination with rockets started in 1957, when Sputnik 1 was launched into space. He bought and flew his first rocket when he was just 12 years old and has been an enthusiast ever since. His full-time job is as computer systems director for the world's largest credit card company. He is also treasurer and webmaster for the Tripoli Association (http://www.tripoli.org/ - the international organization for high-powered rocketry). In 1999 he helped build a 30-foot rocket weighing 600 pounds. It was a triumph of engineering ... until it blew up!
