In the long awaited arrival of 3" (75mm) motors from AeroTech, it appears these are just days away, possibly awaiting only certification before delivery to the certified general public. As typical in the high power industry, most motor manufacturers use the national Tripoli Rocketry Association launch, LDRS, to preview and release new motor products. It is expected this year's LDRS will be no different.
We have learned of the dimensions and performance data of the new breed of AeroTech motors. It appears there will be four configurations: K620W (75/2560 case), L950W (75/3840 case), L1270W (75/5120 case) and the M1570W (75/6400 case). All formats will carry a plugged delay grain configuration. There has been no official position from AeroTech on the subject. While the new J570 (38/1080) and K700 (54/2560) were exciting news when announced earlier this summer, they might have just been summer teasers to this unconfirmed announcement. When they are released, the following information is the expected performance data to be utilized: Click to enlarge:
