ANAHEIM, California USA -- The LDRS 20 Executive Committee (EC) announced today that a 20,000 foot (6100 meter) MSL (above mean sea level) waiver had been granted by the FAA for LDRS 20.
The 20,000 foot MSL waiver has been granted on a real-time request basis, meaning that fliers will need to indicate the higher waiver is required for their flight. The FAA will be contacted, and the flight launched on grant of the request.
At all other times, an 8,000 foot (2400 meter) MSL waiver will apply, dawn to dusk each day.
"We're proud to announce after months of negotiation that we have secured the 20,000 foot MSL waiver for LDRS 20. This is a culmination of a perfect safety record and our willingness to work with the FAA on our current high altitude waiver", said ROC Prefect Rick O'Neil.
The LDRS EC is continuing negotiations with the FAA to secure the waiver on a time-block basis.
