WORLD WIDE WEB -- Rocket Kraft has added a free e-book Thrust to Weight Ratio Motor Guide to it's website. The file includes data compiled by Ron Freiheit for the TSM RSO handbook.
Ron is a Tripoli and NAR member and flies with several local clubs, including being a founding member of Tripoli Southern Minnesota. Ron is certified to Level 3 and has flown several large projects, including a successful two stage M1419 to M845 hybrid flight at Black Rock last Fall.
The Guide covers currently certified motors in the G-M range and provides estimated maximum lift-off weight for motors in pounds or grams. It also includes the initial thrust and average thrust ratings for the motors listed. The guide is used at Tripoli Southern Minnesota launches to help their RSO's if they have a question about a rocket/motor combination.
The e-book is easy to download and install, takes up only 550k of space — it takes only 2 minutes to download from a 56k modem. The e-book can also be printed out so you can take it along to the launch site! Easy to surf around the pages and motor listings.
A word of warning- the book is just a guide — use your own best judgement for the conditions at hand for selecting your motors! The book can be freely distributed and your comments/suggestions for future revisions of the book will be greatly appreciated! Visit http://www.rocketkraft.com to get your free copy!
