ImageEarlier this week, Apogee Components announced a new annual educational grant program that will award a certificate of $300 toward model rocket products from Apogee. Awarded on January 1st of each year, the grant is being operated as an annual program to allow a diverse number of groups the opportunity to win the award.

"I'm excited about this new program," Tim Van Milligan, Apogee Components president, said. "Not only does it give desperately needed money to a deserving group, but I feel that this will help spread rocketry to people that have never launched rockets before."

To be considered eligible, individuals or groups must submit a written essay to Apogee in which they describe how they will use the grant to help spread the hobby of rocketry and education in general. One winner will be selected from these essays who will receive a certificate valued at $300 worth of Apogee Components merchandise.

The deadline for proposal submissions is November 30th, with the winner being notified by January 1.
