WORLD WIDE WEB -- After hearing two reports concerning model rockets that fall under the 3.3- pound rule, I contacted FAA for clarification. They WILL allow any rocket that does not require a waiver, so rockets falling into the 3.3-pound category are allowed.

Status for waivered rocketry remains the same today. The ban has not been lifted for High Power. All prior waivers already issued are considered cancelled, and no future waiver applications are being accepted at this time.
