In the wake of these timely items has come news of the rocket-minded teenagers who build and fly their own rocket-powered missiles.  Well, sometimes they fly, that is."

These were G. Harry Stine's opening paragraphs in "The Do-It-Yourself Rocketeers," an article that appeared in American Modeler magazine in April 1958.  Stine wrote many articles in the early days of the hobby and was instrumental in shaping its future.

Part of the challenge we face in the hobby is the archival and preservation of these old sources of information on our hobby. Adobe PDF format makes a great medium for the collection and storage of these types of documents because of its portability and cross-platform approach.
