STUTTGART, Germany EUR -- Spacecad.com today announced the general availability of release 2.1 of its award-winning SpaceCAD Model Rocket Software. SpaceCAD enables users to design and build their own model rockets on the screen, test-fly them and check the stability — to finally build them from scratch.
The new version includes significant enhancements to the previous release of SpaceCAD. Features now include a comprehensive engine database editor and extended rocket construction support, like a parachute pattern and transition guide printer. SpaceCAD now also features a manual that helps users get started more quickly.
"SpaceCAD is the perfect tool to design and build model rockets -- especially for classes" says George Herman of Modern School Supplies Inc., a provider of state-of-the-art educational services and SpaceCAD reseller.
Model rocket software allows hobbyists to design model rockets on the screen before they actually build them. This reduces the probability for crashes. "It' s much better to test-fly your rocket on the PC and check whether it' s stable instead of building it real and then finding out that it didn' t work" explains Andreas Firnau of SpaceCAD.com. "You save a lot of time, money - and frustration".
With SpaceCAD, users can see how high the model rocket will fly, how fast it will go, and how long it will stay up. Another important thing in model rocketry is "stability" - not every model rocket flies automatically upright into the air, basic physical principles have to be followed to get a "stable" rocket. SpaceCAD makes this process very comfortable and allows to fine-tune the design until its flawless.
These features make SpaceCAD the perfect design tool for avid rocketeers who want to build their own model rockets--instead of relying on catalog designs.
