AUGUSTA, Georgia USA -- Point 39 Productions, covering HPR activities since 1989, announces the release of their latest smoke-belching, flame throwing, digitally edited video, LDRS-XX: A High Power Odyssey!, their eleventh consecutive LDRS video.

Shot on location at Lucerne Dry Lake and Edwards Air Force Base in California and the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, and fully digitally edited to professional video standards from over 23 hours of raw footage, this latest release from the oldest HPR video company in the industry adds to—and builds on—their long-standing reputation as supplier of the highest quality, most detailed videos of the LDRS launches available anywhere.

Featuring three camera coverage of most flights, the digital slow motion effects applied to the exclusive PadCam shots will literally take the viewer's breath away! In many cases, this camera captures the intricate details of ignition and motor 'power-up' and 'flame-on' a mere 3-4 feet away from the pad! Close-up balls of flame from the huge 22 foot tall N-1 Soviet Moon rocket (with 42 motors!), Andy Woerner's gigantic 1/3 V-2, the Gates Brother's Porthos on SIX K1050s and L1500 are just a sample of the large rocket projects that appear to literally blow the PadCam away! Some of these PadCam video frame grabs can be viewed on-line at the following web address:

Projects featured in the video include:

  • Huge 230 lb. N-1 Moon Rocket on 42 motors!
  • Full-scale Navy Jayhawk on twin M Blue Thunders!
  • Wedge Oldham's 200 lb. Nike-Hercules two stage!
  • Gates Brothers breathless on-board videos!*
  • Andy Woerner's 1/3 scale V-2 monster!
  • Team Rage stretched Army Hawk on Redline M!
  • Arizona High Power's 1/4 scale V-2 on Redline M!
  • Kurt Gugisberg's Flying Space Cat of Death!
  • Dennis Gerber's SMILE with on-board video!*
  • And many, many, more flights!

*The on-board footage from these three flights probably ranks as the best on-board HPR footage ever obtained. It is simply gorgeous!

Great interviews with the modelers and setup footage of the 'big' birds, adds that extra touch to the traditional smoke, flame, and roar that High-Power enthusiasts have come to expect from Point 39.

And in honor of the 20th annual LDRS event, Point 39 Productions was honored with the use of actual movie footage from LDRS-1 taken at the historic Medina, Ohio site by early Tripoli member Warren Sisco of Philadelphia, PA. Excerpts of this never-before-seen footage of this first LDRS is sprinkled throughout the LDRS production to provide that 'blast from the past' of how LDRS was started by founder Chris Pearson all those years ago!

Featuring another great stereo Hi-Fi soundtrack and professional editing and narration throughout, the LDRS-XX video is the release of 2001 that EVERYONE will be talking about! Run time is two hours eight minutes.

Cost per VHS tape is $20, which includes all shipping and handling costs. S-VHS and Hi-8 copies are available for $30. DVD options for the full two + hour production are being researched at this time. Two or more videos purchased together qualify for a $5.00 discount off order total.

Other videos available include all LDRS videos from LDRS-10 through LDRS-20; Monster Rockets (the Sackett and Ward Project 463—1200 lbs. and an S-motor attempt); and BALLS-006 (featuring an R motor flight to nearly 20 miles high with on-board video!).

As with all their productions, a complete money-back guarantee is offered if not delighted with your purchase.
