ImageLAS CRUCES, New Mexico USA -- New Mexico is the place to be this weekend for the Wirefly X PRIZE Cup, Earth's great space exposition. This year's Cup features three spectacular competitions with over $2.5 million in prize purses, multiple high-powered sounding rocket launches, the unveiling of the Rocket Racing League's development X-Racer, multiple static engine test firings live on the field, fly-overs by the T-38 astronaut trainer, and a variety of other rocket surprises in the air and on the ground.

On top of this, or should we say underneath, is an open-air museum of space, with all kinds of scale models, simulators, space artifacts, live astronaut talks and more. If you can be at Las Cruces, New Mexico October 20th and 21st to see all of the excitement in person, you can  watch the event live on a global webcast.

The webcast will begin live online at 9:00AM Eastern Time, 6:00AM Pacific Time as crews take to the field and prepare to fly. Live coverage will conclude at 5:00PM Eastern Time, 2:00PM Pacific Time.  During the program, you will be kept up-to-date on the day's schedule.

  •   7:15AM — Goddard A5 rocket launch (TRA Nebraska), M1350 motor (Animal Motor Works)
  •   9:00AM — Project Aftershock rocket launch (Heller & crew ), N motor (LOKI Research)
  • 11:15AM — Phoenix XL (Sterling, Ed Rowe, and crew), Q motor (Mark Lloyd) 
  • 12:45PM — Tripoli static motor firing, N1960 motor (Gordzelik prop/Mostly Missiles hardware)
  •   1:00PM — Dream is Alive rocket launch (Art Hoag & crew), N2500 motor (Animial Motor Works)
  •   2:00PM — 3 rocket salvo (Tripoli/NAR Las Cruces) launched one right after the other, H - J motors

Saturday, October 21:

  •   7:00AM — Tripoli static motor firing, N1960 motor (Pat Gordselik - prop/Mostly Missiles hardware)
  •   7:15AM — Tripoli Redstone rocket launch (Tripoli Nebraska), P6831 motor (Gordzelik prop/Loki hardware)
  •   9:00AM — American Flag rocket launch (Woody Hoburg), O3800 motor (Gordzelik prop/Loki hardware)
  • 11:00AM — Event Horizon rocket launch (Art Hoag & crew), three N 2500 motors (Animal Motor Works)
  • 11:15AM — Tripoli static motor firing, N1960 motor (Gordzelik prop/Mostly Missiles hardware)
  •   1:00PM — Jayhawk rocket launch (Gates Brothers & crew), two N4000 motors (Animal Motor Works)
  •   2:15PM — 3 rocket salvo (Tripoli/NAR Las Cruces) launched one right after the other, H - J motors
